Selexa are partnered with a leading tech client specialising in a number of technology development projects, utilised across a range of sectors and industries. The client have pioneered a revolutionary new precision metrology tool which has been qualified by industry leading semiconductor companies.

The Opportunity:

The Senior Manufacturing Technician will undergo extensive product training and development in the Abingdon facility to ensure the best possible performance for internal and external customer requirements. You will be responsible for supporting the building of all assemblies required to complete the product & system build within the Operations team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and test complex sub-assemblies, assembling the tools to the required standard using build and test documents
  • Identify and report problems with manufacturing and work with the manufacturing engineering team to find solutions
  • Assist the manufacturing team in maintaining and improving work processes and manufacturing quality
  • Support NPI Manager and Manufacturing Manager in the delivering on time product to the customer
  • Produce well documented build notes and test procedures as and when required in line with NPI activity

Education & Qualifications:

  • An educational qualification - HND/Degree
  • 10+ years experience in practical manufacturing and production environment
  • Experience of building and testing complex high tech products
  • Experience in assembly of optical components, including lasers
  • Experience of working within engineering environment and developing through to product release
  • Understanding of testing equipment
  • Experience of working in a clean room environment
  • Experience in manufacturing within the Semiconductor field would be a major advantage
  • Experience of building and testing any or all of optical systems including lasers and fibres, electronics, electro-mechanics would be an advantage
