Tradewind Recruitment is looking for a dedicated and experienced Finance Officer to join a supportive SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in Accrington. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organised and proactive individual to play a crucial role in the smooth financial operation of the school and contribute to its positive learning environment. The role is due to start ASAP, offering an immediate start for the successful candidate.

About the Role:

The Finance Officer will be responsible for managing the financial processes of the SEMH school, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. You will work closely with the school leadership team, providing essential financial administrative support and contributing to the overall effective management of resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing all aspects of the school's financial transactions, including processing invoices, payments, and receipts.
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring data integrity.
  • Assisting with the preparation of financial reports and statements.
  • Supporting the budget preparation and monitoring processes.
  • Processing payroll and managing associated documentation.
  • Liaising with external financial stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and school policies.
  • Providing general financial administrative support to the Head Teacher and other staff members.

About You:

We are looking for a candidate who is highly organised, detail-oriented, and confident in managing financial information. Previous experience in a finance role is essential, and experience within a school environment, particularly an SEMH setting, would be advantageous but is not strictly necessary. A strong understanding of financial procedures and office systems is crucial.
