Maintenance Operative

We are looking for a reliable and hands-on Maintenance Operative to join a care provider who supports young people and vulnerable adults. This is a role where your work genuinely matters – keeping facilities safe, secure and in good working order.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for carrying out a wide range of repairs, checks and maintenance duties across our properties, including:
Basic plumbing such as unblocking sinks
Woodwork including fitting doors, locks and hinges
Basic electrical tasks and monthly emergency lighting (EML) testing
Fire door checks and fire extinguisher inspections
Recording and reporting all checks and results accurately to the manager
What does the ideal candidate look like?
Confident using tools and able to handle general repairs with care and precision
Experience in carpentry, plumbing and basic electrics
Able to follow compliance checks and keep accurate records
Comfortable working on your own initiative as well as part of a team
Enhanced DBS required
Full PPE required
Hours & Location
Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 16:30
Based in Accrington, BB5 3JD
