As the SCADA/Controls Visualisation Engineer, you will be working as part of an EMEA-wide engineering team to create the visualisation concept and the specification within the cost and time constraints of a material handling project. In addition, you will also be ensuring that the visualisation methods and standards meet the requirements of the project and align with both the Dematic and our customer's requirements.

For this unique opportunity to work on these global automated material handling projects, we are seeking those with a strong understanding of SCADA, PLC, and HMI systems who have experience with programming languages such as VBA, C, C++, and exposure to visualisation systems such as WinCC, Iconic or Ignition.

Main Objectives:

  • Deliver the assigned project scope and tasks by meeting\exceeding our safety, quality, On-Time-Delivery, and budget requirements.
  • Defining the visualisation concept and creating specifications.
  • Editing the overview layouts and customer-specific documents.
  • Clarifying order details internally with other departments and externally with customers and suppliers.
  • Creating the entire visualization.
  • Commissioning the systems.
  • Occasional system support during the start-up phase until production is handed over.
  • Training of customer personnel and our service employees.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Ideally educated to a degree level, however, the minimum qualification for this role is an HNC/HND in Electrical/Controls Engineering.
  • Familiar with the PC-based process visualization system WinCC, Iconics, or Ignition.
  • Experience in designing graphical user interfaces.
  • Experience in Visual Basic Script (VBS), Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) and the programming languages C, C++.
  • Good understanding of SCADA systems and where appropriate in PLC and HMI software
  • Hands-on experience with process visualization systems
  • Good understanding of the installation and configuration of computer systems and server systems
  • Understanding of distributed control systems is desirable, not essential
  • Understanding of automated warehouse desirable not essential
  • The role requires a willingness to travel up to 30% to our customer locations within the EMEA European region, including travel to other Dematic offices or facilities across Europe to perform duties.
