Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Management Accountant to support the Group Financial Controller and CFO in the preparation of consolidated management accounts for two businesses within our group. This role requires strong technical accounting skills, particularly in inventory, costing, and compliance, and will play a key part in financial reporting, budgeting, and operational analysis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and take full ownership of monthly management accounts, including prepayments, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.

  • Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, reports, and detailed financial commentary for month-end reviews with the CFO.

  • Consolidate financial data across two group businesses to provide accurate and insightful reporting.

  • Work closely with other departments to support budget planning and control of departmental expenditure.

  • Maintain a strong working relationship with the Purchase Ledger Accounts Assistant to ensure accuracy and efficiency in financial transactions.

  • Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of inventory levels and costs using appropriate valuation methods.

  • Prepare and post monthly and annual inventory journals in line with financial regulations.

  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, coordinating with supply chain and warehouse management teams.

  • Manage monthly intercompany transaction agreements and reconciliations within the Group.

  • Reconcile VAT returns monthly in preparation for quarterly HMRC filings, ensuring compliance with UK tax and accounting regulations.
