Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our site team on a long-running Nuclear project. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with the Commercial Manager and wider Contracts Team to manage the commercial and financial aspects of a major project. The successful candidate will bring experience in NEC3/4 contracts and be confident using CEMAR for contractual communications.

Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed cost estimates for passive fire protection works, including labour, materials, and associated expenses.
Monitor project budgets, track costs, and collaborate with operations to identify cost-saving opportunities.
Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, identify variations, and ensure financial accuracy.
Prepare and review tender documents, procurement schedules, and contracts in compliance with legal and project requirements.
Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to gather quotations, negotiate pricing, and manage procurement.
Submit interim valuations, progress reports, and final accounts in line with contract terms.
Maintain live records of project costs and variations, ensuring alignment with internal procedures.
Assist in resolving commercial disputes and contractual issues in a timely and professional manner.
Ensure strict compliance with contractual obligations through effective use of tools such as CEMAR.
Contribute to internal reporting to support project decision-making and delivery success.

Skills & Abilities:
Strong work ethic and leadership capabilities.
Solid experience in construction, ideally with passive fire protection projects.
Proven ability to manage people and assets.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
Ability to interpret technical construction drawings and specifications.
High attention to detail with strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
Confident in presentations and working with a range of stakeholders.
Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (or equivalent).
Previous experience in a similar role within the construction industry; nuclear sector experience is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of NEC contracts (NEC3/4) and use of CEMAR.
Proficiency in Excel and other quantity surveying software tools.

Desirable:
Experience in the passive fire protection industry.
Knowledge of nuclear-specific safety and compliance standards.
