Mechanical Design Engineer required for a well-established and multinational manufacturer of special purpose machinery for industrial applications based in the Aldershot area. Due to ongoing success, they are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to take ownership of the full design and development of bespoke machinery.

Mechanical Design Engineer Job Overview

Lead the design, development, and delivery of special-purpose machinery
Manage multiple projects from concept through to build, installation, and commissioning (cradle to grave)
Produce detailed 3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings, and Bills of Materials
Prepare cost estimates and support equipment quotations
Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and clients to meet project timelines and requirements
Engage in hands-on assembly and manufacturing support
Provide technical support during factory and on-site testing and installation
Participate in occasional overseas travel to support international clients or facilities

Mechanical Design Engineer Job Requirements

Strong experience in mechanical design for bespoke machinery or special-purpose equipment
Proficient with 3D modelling software such as Autodesk Inventor or Solidworks
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and tolerancing
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a high degree of autonomy
Effective communicator with good problem-solving skills
Willingness to be hands-on in the workshop during assembly and testing
HND or above within a related discipline is desirable
Based in a commutable distance of Aldershot

Mechanical Design Engineer Salary & Benefits

Competitive salary: 45,000 - 55,000 (dependent on experience)
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 17:00
