Our client is a fine chemicals company engaged in the energy production industries. They regularly develop chemical formulas and this role will work in that active ity, alongside assisting the sales ream with customer orders and requirements.

Key duties include:

  • To assist in developing new product formulae, also testing, and approving of new raw materials as required.
  • To ensure smooth running of laboratory.
  • In accordance with company quality, environmental, health and safety procedures arrange to create all necessary labels, datasheets, test schedules etc. as required to fulfil all statutory obligations and provide suitable sale and marketing information.
  • To assist in providing all necessary technical service support to customers and salespeople to ensure that correct product is provided and used to fulfil customers needs and desires.
  • Monitor and report compliance with technical IMS as required and HSE legislation and regulatory affairs concerning the use, handling, storage and disposal of chemicals, reporting issues of non-compliance and recommending remedial action as appropriate.
  • To assist in ensuring that all necessary quality control resources are in place and that all calibrations are kept up to date.
  • Assist in ensuring that the lab and associated work areas are operating effectively and efficiently at all times and maintained in a clean and organised condition.
  • To have acknowledge of CEFAS registration which is for the Oil & Gas industries.
  • Contribute to the Companys knowledge capital as required and to take responsibility for ones own development in line with the Companys business and operational objectives.
  • Any other activities or duties which from time to time may be reasonably required by your line manager (Managing Director).

Your background:

We are seeking someone ideally with formulation experience and an understanding of the Oil Industry and the CEFAS Registration process that is required to allow the company to produce safe Chemicals for use offshore.

  • Degree qualified in chemistry or equivalent field
  • Technical laboratory experience
  • Understanding of the chemical manufacturing industry (desirable)
  • Knowledge of the oil industry and understanding of CEFAS (desirable)

Wider to this, you will be someone who is well organised, with good time management skills and a high level of attention to detail. This role will involve multi tasking and working to varying deadlines, and call for a self-starter who can act with autonomy in their role.
