About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Extrusion Lead Operator to support and guide a team of operators, ensuring the safe and efficient manufacture of high-quality extruded product. You will train new and existing team members, uphold safety and quality standards, and contribute to continuous improvement across the shift.

Key Responsibilities

  • Train and mentor operators in best practices and quality standards.
  • Conduct audits to ensure safety, quality, and compliance.
  • Support the Team Leader with housekeeping standards and break coverage.
  • Operate extrusion lines when necessary.
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping and hygiene across the plant.
  • Assist with risk assessments and process improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure operator safety checks are completed and documented.
  • Manage effective inter-shift communication and handovers.
  • Coordinate shift tasks: schedules, deployment boards, paperwork, resin checks, and manpower control (overtime/holidays/absence).
  • Review operational performance, agree actions, and issue end-of-shift reports.
  • Handle scrap events via the NCMR process.
  • Oversee banding gun audits and repairs.
  • Support site security and respond to alarms.
  • Act as first-aid support on shift.
  • Raise maintenance work orders as required.

Requirements: 

  • Experience of working with an extrusion process. 
  • NVQ or equivalent qualifications an advantage. 
  • Strong HSE awareness (ideally IOSH trained). 
  • Manual Handling trained.
  • Train the trainer trained.

Salary: £41,809.80 Per Annum including shift allowance.

Working Hours: 4 on 4 off Days and Nights. 

This is a Full time, Permanent position.
