Your new companyHays Recruitment is partnering with a key client, a dynamic business that operates in N. Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and mainland UK. We are seeking to appoint an assistant accountant on a full-time, permanent basis. Your new roleReporting to the Company Accountant.

General accounting duties including but not limited to:Preparing monthly management accounts including prepayments, general accruals and other relevant journal entriesManagement of the purchase and sales ledger, including reconciliation and posting of company credit card transactions, ensuring accuracy of recording and prompt payments and receipts.Preparing and submitting VAT returns in both NI and ROIReconciling bank statementsDealing with financial paperwork and filingPayroll processingWhat you'll need to succeedAt least 2 years' experience in a busy finance environmentStrong analytical skills and attention to detailExcellent planning and organisational skills and ability to work to tight reporting deadlinesExcellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with people both internally and externallyAbility to work on your own initiative and within a teamProficient in the use of Sage 50 accounts, Sage Payroll, Microsoft excel, word and outlookWhat you'll get in returnYou will be rewarded with an excellent salary, opportunity to drive your career forward with an incredibly supportive team.
