Our client, a leader in the highways sector, is currently seeking a Construction Manager to manage site operations within the Council's network. This contract position will involve overseeing various aspects of highway construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing and administering the construction works in accordance with the contract.
- Overseeing fulfilment of the duties of the Principal Contractor under CDM and under the NEC conditions of contract.
- Ensuring the Kier 5 SHE Basics, Training and Competence, Risk Assessment for every task, Induction for every worker, Safe System of Work, and Point of Work Risk Assessment are embedded for all works.
- Ensuring effective implementation of the Construction Phase Plan, including compliance with specific requirements (e.g., site inductions and site rules).
- Preparing, monitoring, and maintaining a robust construction programme.
Job Requirements:
- Experience in construction management, particularly within the highways sector.
- Strong understanding of CDM regulations and NEC conditions of contract.
- Proficiency in health and safety management practices.
- Ability to prepare and manage construction programmes effectively.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
