Location for the Auto Electrician / Electrical Engineer / Diagnostic Engineer:Swindon, Bristol or Exeter (South West Area)
Salary for the Auto Electrician / Electrical Engineer / Diagnostic Engineer: £40,000.00 - £50,000.00 depending on experience and qualifications PLUS overtime (paid at 1.5 x time and 2 x time - plenty overtime available)
Hours of work: Standard 40 hours per week - Monday to Friday

My client is looking for an Auto Electrician / Electrical Engineer to join their team either around Swindon, Bristol or the Exeter areas, due to company expansion a number of roles have opened for semi skilled or fully skilled Auto Electricians. The principal Duties of the Auto Electrician / Electrical Engineer / Diagnostic Engineer:
- Installation of aftermarket equipment into cars and LCVs. Usually Police, Ambulance and Fire.
- Diagnosis and repair of electrical faults on cars and commercial vehicles
- Service/repair of auxiliary heating and air conditioning
Secondary duties will be:
- Talking to customers
- Liaising with Service department
- Admin Recording of Time, parts and labour
Requirements for the Auto Electrician / Electrical Engineer / Diagnostic Engineer:
- Experience in installing aftermarket equipment into new and used vehicles ideally emergency service vehicle.
- Knowledge in using various diagnostic equipment advantageous.
- Must have good knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and be able to diagnose basic and complex faults. Having either qualifications in Auto Electrics and or over 5 years of experience.
- City and Guilds, NVQ Qualifications in vehicle electrics or main dealer/manufacturer equivalents will be very useful however having worked in the industry for a number of years can replace this credential.
- Control Unit such as the Standby/Carnation MCS/Genasys control units:
- ANPR systems such as Cleartone
- Screen integration knowledge such as Standby
- CAN-bus integration systems such as CANM8
- Knowledge of secure radio systems such as Sepura and Moterolla
Suitable candidates for this role are Qualified Auto Electricians, Garage Master Technicians or Highly qualified Mechanics that are interested in Auto Electrics.
