This role is responsible for helping to deliver our press and media relations work. These outputs enhance and the brand's reputation as a leading research university in the UK, alongside supporting an ambition to become the most inclusive institution of its kind. The role works closely with the Faculty Communications Managers supporting the delivery of public relations for each of the University's academic faculties.

Description
- Draft and distribute press releases to relevant media outlets.
- Manage media inquiries and build relationships with journalists.
- Develop and implement communication strategies to support organisational goals.
- Monitor media coverage and produce detailed reports for internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging across all channels.
- Create engaging content for various platforms, including social media and newsletters.
- Plan and execute press events and media briefings.
- Ensure all communications align with brand guidelines and values.
Profile
- Provide sound and relevant media and PR advice to colleagues and senior managers
- Build and maintain relationships with key journalists, stakeholders, advocates and partners to gather intelligence
- Understand and the interpret the current and emerging news agenda
- Have and understanding of the sectors
- Support the development, implementation and review of effective corporate media relations strategies
- Use of knowledge of the media landscape to develop innovative ideas
- Demonstrate excellent written comms skills
- Help lead the delivery of media relations activities
Job Offer
- Grade 4 role in person - 40,00/41,000 on a day rate
- 3 days in the office - can do more if you want
- Reporting into the Head of Comms
