Senior Health & Safety Manager

Flexible base (multiple locations), covering the Greater Dublin and Leinster Regions

An exciting opportunity to join one of Ireland’s leading independent Manufacturing firms. We are currently looking for an experienced Health and Safety Manager based from any of our locations in Greater Dublin, covering multiple site locations in the Greater Dublin & Leinster Region.

The ideal candidate will possess a Health & Safety qualification (i.e. Degree or NEBOSH), an auditor qualification (i.e. ISO 14001, 9001, 45001) and instructor/trainer qualifications (i.e. First Aid/manual handling).

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting into the Group H&S Manager you will promote a culture of EHS excellence and provide high-quality EHS technical knowledge and reinforce safety on-site by providing/promoting employee awareness & training
  • Develop and recommend safety standards and procedures in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Set up, monitor, and coordinate Safety Induction Training for all new employees and sub-contractors and maintain documentary evidence of same.
  • Assist the Health & Safety Team and Associate Directors in the CP&A business on various projects to improve processes and reduce the overall health and safety risk
  • Assist all Managers with training needs e.g. Manual Handling, Forklift Training, Emergency Response Training, etc.
  • Develop Emergency, Evacuation and Traffic Management Plans for site and carry out Safety Inspections and Audits.
  • Record, report, and carry out incident investigations and promptly and effectively, ensuring that corrective actions are implemented without delay.
  • Identify new and on-going safety related training requirements, ensuring all mandatory training is reviewed and delivered on time.
  • Review sub-contractors’ Health & Safety systems and procedures
  • Chair the Regions Health & Safety & Environmental meetings on a regular basis.
  • Liaise with professional bodies from time to time i.e. the HSA and or ICF H&S Committee.
  • Demonstrate a lead by example approach to all aspects of Health & Safety

Skills Required:

  • Third level Health & Safety & Environmental qualification or equivalent.
  • Circa 8-10 years’ experience in a Health & Safety Management role in the Manufacturing Industry is essential.
  • Excellent knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental legislations and regulations.
  • Manual Handling Instructor, First Aid trained and Safe Pass.
  • Full, Clean Driver’s Licence.
