Our client who is a national prison educational provider, is looking for an experienced Contract and Commercial Manager to join their team to manage a high-profile government justice contract.
As the Contract and Commercial Manager, you will lead the end-to-end contract lifecycle, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and terms. Your expertise in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements, including SLAs and KPIs, will be crucial to our success. You will foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, collaborating closely with our operational delivery team to ensure seamless contract performance.
Your responsibilities include conducting performance reviews, delivering insightful reports, and proactively identifying opportunities for process enhancements and cost savings. With your strong negotiation skills, you will mitigate risks, resolve disputes, and drive successful outcomes in our dynamic contractual environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the end-to-end contract lifecycle, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and contract terms.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contract agreements, including terms and conditions, statements of work, service level agreements (SLAs), and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external, to ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the contract duration.
- Prepare and deliver performance reports, metrics, and other contractual documentation to stakeholders, providing timely and accurate updates on contract status.
- Work closely with the operational delivery team to understand their requirements, address any contract related issues, and facilitate efficient and compliance contract performance.
- Conduct regular performance reviews to monitor contract compliance, identify areas for improvement, and propose corrective actions, as necessary.
- Mitigate risks and resolve disputes or conflicts that may arise during the contract implementation, utilising your strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Stay up to date with legal and regulatory changes that may impact the contract, ensuring necessary adjustments are made to maintain compliance.
- Proactively identify opportunities to enhance contract performance, streamline processes, and drive cost savings.
Person Specification:
- Educated to Degree level or equivalent
- Sound knowledge of contract law, regulations, and compliance requirements within the UK
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels of the organisation
- Exceptional communication and negotiating skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail Experience
- Experience in contract drafting, interpretation and negotiation
- Demonstrable experience in managing SLAs, KPIs and performance reporting in a complex contractual environment.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
