The Role: Mechanical Contracts Manager
Location – Flexible – Ideally South East
Sector: Engineering
Salary: £63,000 to £65,000 + Car / Car Allowance + Bonus + Benefits
I am working with a growing provider of Hard Services to find them and enthusiastic and reliable Mechanical Contracts Manager to join the team.
The group provide commercial installations across a range of systems including energy solutions, smart lighting, BMS, HVAC, Solar PV, EV and large combined M&E Projects.

Key Responsibilities
• Manage Mechanical projects up to £1million.
• Be responsible for material and sub-contract purchasing.
• Be responsible for Supervisors, plumber, pipefitters, labourers, apprentices & sub-contractors.
• Liaising with project & site teams to control & review all contract work.
• Be able to prepare estimates for future works.
• Have good leadership & integrity in all aspects of the role.
• Ensure Health & Safety and QA compliance is maintained at all times on sites and work locations including completing and issuing relevant RAMS.
• Dealing with Customer Enquiries and carry out site surveys/visits.
• Dealing with Project Planning.
• Dealing with Variations and Monthly Applications.
• Ensure projects are completed within the required timescale and on budget.
Required Qualification / Certification:
• SMSTS
• First Aid Certificate
• Asbestos Awareness
• NVQ level 3 in Heating and Ventilation (Gas systems)
• Mechanical maintenance
• Plantroom installations when on the tools- capable of changing and correcting designs drawings.
• Experience in using a variety of materials on different systems- ABS, Steel, Copper, Uponor etc
• Unvented hot water qualification
• Any F Gas experience
• Ordering and take offs. Experience in costing projects. Relationships with merchants etc
• ECS Management Card
The ideal candidate will have excellent project management skills and be able to work to deadlines, keeping both teams and cost on track. You will be a strong and clear communicator who can work well under pressure and who values team work. With more than 3 years experience in a similar role, you will have managed projects between £20,000 and £1m.
