My client, a stunning 80-room AA Rosette-awarded Hotel & Spa, set within three acres of beautiful gardens in the historic racing town of Newmarket, is seeking a talented and ambitious Junior Sous Chef to join their professional kitchen team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a chef with experience at Junior Sous level (or a strong Chef de Partie ready to step up) who is looking to develop their career in a supportive, high-quality environment.
The Role:As Junior Sous Chef, youll play a key role in the smooth running of the kitchen, working closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to deliver exceptional dining experiences for hotel guests, spa visitors, and private events.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the Head and Sous Chef in the daily operation of the kitchen
- Preparing and presenting high-quality dishes in line with AA Rosette standards
- Leading and motivating junior chefs, ensuring training and development needs are met
- Assisting with menu development and implementation of seasonal dishes
- Ensuring food safety, hygiene, and allergen protocols are strictly followed
- Managing stock control and assisting with supplier ordering
- Taking responsibility for the kitchen in the absence of the Sous Chef
- Previous experience as a Junior Sous Chef or an experienced Chef de Partie looking to progress
- Strong leadership and communication skills a natural motivator and team player
- A passion for seasonal, locally sourced ingredients and delivering exceptional food
- Good organisational skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure
- Knowledge of current food safety and hygiene regulations (Level 2 or higher required)
- A professional attitude, with a willingness to learn and grow
- £35,100 per annum + gratuities
