Prestigious Investment Bank seeks experienced Business Analyst for Markets Division
We are recruiting for a skilled Business/Data Analyst to join the Markets business of a leading investment bank. This role offers excellent exposure to regulatory risk and reporting within a dynamic trading environment.
Contract Details- Daily Rate: £550 (Inside IR35)
- Duration: 6 months (Contract ends 19th December 2025)
- Location: Belfast - 3 days per week on-site
- Start: Immediate
You'll be working within the Markets division, focusing on regulatory compliance, risk analysis, and data-driven insights. This position requires someone who can navigate complex regulatory frameworks while delivering actionable business intelligence to support trading operations and compliance requirements.
Essential RequirementsTechnical Expertise:
- Advanced Excel proficiency including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, conditional functions, and statistical analysis
- SharePoint administration and collaboration tools
- SQL database querying capabilities with joins and data manipulation
- Business Requirements Documentation (BRD) and Functional Specification Document (FSD) creation and interpretation
Regulatory & Risk Experience:
- Hands-on experience interpreting and analyzing complex financial regulations
- Knowledge of key regulatory frameworks such as Regulation K, Basel III, MiFID II
- Proven ability to distill complex regulatory requirements into clear, actionable summaries
- Experience conducting thorough root cause analysis
Financial Markets Knowledge:
- Understanding of financial instruments including equities, fixed income securities, and derivatives
- Familiarity with market data attributes: CUSIP, ISIN, trade dates, settlement dates
- Experience working with financial datasets and market microstructure
Analytical Skills:
- Data modeling and regression testing experience
- Strong attention to detail with commitment to data integrity
- Ability to identify patterns and anomalies in complex datasets
