GCP Data Analyst

Job Opportunity: GCP Data Analyst / SME (Contract)
Location: London OR Edinburgh (Hybrid 40% Onsite)

Our client, a leading global consultancy, is seeking an experiencedData Analystwith strong skills in data warehousing and Google Cloud Platform to join a high-impact project supporting enterprise data product design on GCP.

Role Overview:
As aGCP Data Analyst / SME, you'll analyze existing database and data warehouse jobs and collaborate closely with a Data Modeler to design modern data products on the Google Cloud Platform. This role is hybrid, requiring a minimum of 40% working from the office in either London or Edinburgh, with potential travel to customer workshops.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze and backtrack existing DB/DWH jobs and create Source-To-Target Mapping (STTM) documentation

• Identify source and downstream systems for systems undergoing migration or re-imagination

• Define data ingestion/consumption patterns and target state requirements

• Support in designing enterprise-level data products

• Apply conceptual, logical, and physical data model understanding

• Utilize data modelling techniques (e.g., star schema, snowflake schema, normalization/denormalization)

Required Skills & Experience:

• Advanced SQL, SSIS packages, Python and Shell Scripting expertise

• Experience using ER Studio

• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform tools (e.g., GCS, BigQuery, Kafka)

• Agile methodology experience

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in client-facing roles

Contract Details:

• Rate: up to £400 per day inside IR35

• Duration: 6 months

• Start Date: ASAP in the next 2-4 weeks

• Location: Hybrid (40% onsite in either London or Edinburgh). Travel may be required for customer workshops.
