Location: central London (3-days per week in office)
We're looking for an experienced GCP Data Architect to join our Architecture team as part of a major transformation programme. You'll play a key role in designing and delivering secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud solutions, working closely with business and IT stakeholders across multiple domains.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shape and maintain IT roadmaps aligned with business capabilities
- Design GCP-based architectures that meet security, compliance, and operational standards
- Advise on application upgrades, migrations, and cloud strategies
- Contribute to architecture governance (Design Authority/ARB)
- Support agile delivery teams with architectural oversight
- Lead cloud simplification and automation initiatives
- Communicate complex solutions clearly to varied audiences
- Foster innovation through PoCs and emerging tech
- Stay current with tech trends in Insurance and Cloud
About You:
- Strong experience in GCP architecture and cloud-native design
- Deep understanding of microservices, APIs, containers, and event-driven systems
- Solid grasp of cloud security, networking, and FinOps
- Skilled in SQL/NoSQL, Big Data, and GCP data tooling
- Familiar with enterprise cloud patterns and resilience practices
- Hands-on knowledge of SDLC, SRE, and development tools (Java, Python, etc.)
- Track record in complex enterprise/insurance environments
Desirable:
- GCP certifications
- Experience with ML/AI tooling in GCP
- Background in finance or insurance
- Agile/iterative delivery experience
