  • Understanding of the full engineering lifecycle, from bid and proposal development through to customer support.

  • Proven track record of innovation and a problem-solving approach to engineering challenges.

  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills at PCB and system level, with a methodical approach to root cause analysis and process improvement.

  • Chartered Engineer status (or working towards Chartership).

  • Experience in mentoring, managing or guiding other engineers.

  • Proficiency in embedded software design, particularly with ARM/KEIL environments.

  • Practical knowledge of EMC compliance, particularly to military standards.

  • Familiarity with motor and drive systems, including performance calculations.

  • Understanding of control system performance and the ability to clearly explain these principles to team members and stakeholders.

  • Experience with simulation and analysis tools such as Python, MATLAB, Simulink, LTSpice, or Simetrix.

  • Skilled in project and engineering management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, MS Project).

  • Proficient with PCB design tools like Altium and OrCAD.

  • Understanding of design resilience techniques, including FMEA.

  • Awareness of design for harsh environments, including lightning protection and ruggedised systems typical of military applications.

Personal Attributes:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience collaborating effectively across teams and with customers.

  • Highly organised and detail-oriented, with strong planning skills.
