We are currently recruiting a permanent Factory Operative to work within an engineering company, to join the Fettling Department.
Working 48 hours per week, 6.00am-4.30pm, Monday-Thursday and 6.00am -2.30pm Friday.
The role involves processing castings through a variety of tasks, including fettling, linishing, shot-blasting, etching, and band saw operation. This is a hands-on position within a busy manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process parts in line with Technique Cards and Works Instructions
- Fettling castings using compressed air-driven hand grinding tools
- Manual handling and moving boxes of castings around the factory
- Use the touch screen system to log bookings
- Complete job cards, recording work carried out
Occasional Tasks:
- Linishing castings with an upright linishing machine
- Etching castings using a compressed air-driven vibro-etching tool
- Shot-blasting castings with alumina grit
- Operating the band saw
Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in a factory or industrial environment is beneficial but not essential
- Ability to work with small hand tools and machinery
- Comfortable with manual handling and physical tasks
- Willingness to learn new skills, with full training provided
