M&E Site Manager

Turner Lovell are recruiting an experienced M&E Site Manager to oversee the installation of GIS equipment for a 132 / 275 / 400 kV substation project in the Fife area. This is a key position working on behalf of a principal contractor delivering essential infrastructure works in the power transmission sector.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background managing M&E works within high-voltage environments, be confident managing subcontractors, and possess the relevant SPEN authorisations to operate on site safely and effectively.

Duties:

  • Act as the M&E Site Manager overseeing the installation of GIS equipment
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, electrical installation teams, and commissioning staff
  • Ensure site safety, compliance, and daily site reporting is maintained
  • Review and implement method statements, risk assessments, and quality inspections (ITPs)
  • Collaborate with the project management team to monitor progress and ensure alignment with programme and budget
  • Liaise with SPEN and other stakeholders for safety protocols and permit-to-work procedures

Requirements:

  • SMSTS
  • SPEN Authorisations - Standby Authorised required
  • Demonstrated experience managing GIS installation on high-voltage substations (275kV or above)
  • Strong working knowledge of electrical safety rules and installation best practices
  • Ability to lead teams on-site and ensure all documentation is correctly prepared and followed
