Customs and Excise Co-Ordinator /Belfast - Hybrid / £30,000 DOE with Benefits

Marks Sattin are delighted to be collaborating with Chemical Distribution company in Belfast a who are looking on expanding their Finance Team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast paced and constantly changing environment within a fantastic business.

The Role:

You will be part of a tax team across the UK and Ireland working on all scopes of import and export tax. You will have regular communication with hauliers, customers and suppliers to organise paperwork and administration for product deliveries

Day to Day:

  • Preparation of documentation and information for the UK customs authorities.
  • Distribution of these forms to all relevant stakeholders in the supply chain.
  • Helping other areas of the depot team with goods-in/goods-out procedure
  • Managing and monitoring the movements of controlled goods in and out
  • Completing online submissions to HMRC for these movements. Completing regular returns to HMRC on the movement of controlled goods in and out of the depot.
  • Reconciling the closing stocks of controlled goods to the return submission.
  • Providing advice to the sales/stock teams about the process and checks that need to take place when buying or selling controlled goods.
  • Maintaining master data on products in the ERP system such as commodity code, product origin, excise classifications and restrictions that need to be enforced.
  • Auditing and monitoring movements of controlled goods and collating paperwork.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in customs
  • Experience liaising with stakeholders and having strong communication skills
