Role: Assistant VP of Design
Salary: Up to £104,000 + Benefits
Location: Central London HQ - Hybrid Model
As an Assistant VP of Design, you'll be at the forefront of this transformation, playing a pivotal role in designing, developing, and enhancing software. The Platform you'll be building is a next generation Customer Identity Access Management platform, unifying digital banking accounts under one singular platform.
Experience Required:
- Previous experience as a Head of Design or similar roles.
- Previous experience working on Customer Identity Access platforms is highly desirable.
- Exposure to Permissions and Profiles, including policy as code for defining permission roles, and familiarity with security model paradigms such as RBAC, ABAC, and ReBAC.
- Proven experience collaborating with cross functional teams, with a strong understanding of software engineering methodologies.
- Experience with BDD (Behaviour-Driven Development) testing concepts.
- A strong desire to learn and work with authorisation and authentication technologies (e.g., Policy as Code, IAM, PingGateway, PingAM, PingIDM, PingDS).
- A proactive and constructive approach to challenging the status quo, with the ability to build strong relationships, demonstrate patience, and exhibit resilience in driving change.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts effectively.
- A passion for user experience and a desire to build intuitive and customer-centric digital solutions.
What you'll be doing:
- Design, develop, and deliver scalable, maintainable, and performant software solutions using industry-aligned programming languages.
- Translate user needs and design specifications into functional and intuitive software components, ensuring a seamless and engaging user experience.
- Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise innovative solutions, and ensure seamless integration with business objectives.
- Adhere to secure coding practices, implement effective unit testing, and participate in code reviews to maintain high code quality and mitigate vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to quickly bring their needs to life through prototypes and proof-of-concepts, validating solutions and iterating on designs.
- Effectively communicate complex Design concepts and solutions to both technical and non-technical teams, ensuring clarity and alignment.
- Advise and influence decision-making, contribute to policy development, and take ownership of operational effectiveness within your domain.
- Lead teams performing complex tasks, setting objectives, coaching colleagues, and appraising performance (or lead collaborative assignments as an individual contributor).
- Identify ways to mitigate risk, contribute to new policies and procedures, and take ownership of strengthening controls within your work.
- Work closely with Product and Engineering to ensure alignment, understand interdependencies, and contribute to the overall organizational objectives.
- Engage in complex data analysis from various sources to creatively and effectively solve problems.
- Clearly and persuasively communicate complex or sensitive information to diverse audiences.
- Influence and convince stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
