We are looking for a Senior Sous Chef to support our Head Chef in running a high-standard, efficient kitchen. Based in Orford, our pub experiences busy summers and peak trade on holidays, with quieter winters requiring occasional lone working. Responsibilities:
- Prepare, cook, and present high-quality food to company standards
- Maintain portion control and minimise waste
- Oversee stock management and supplier orders
- Ensure compliance with food safety and health regulations
- Provide excellent service and maintain high food presentation standards
- Lead and develop the kitchen team, supporting recruitment and training
- Assist in managing food costs, stock takes, and revenue improvement
- Maintain and monitor kitchen equipment, reporting maintenance needs
Ideal Candidate:
- Experienced Senior Sous Chef or Sous Chef in a high-volume setting
- Strong leadership skills with a passion for training and developing staff
- Excellent knowledge of food safety and health regulations
- Ability to work efficiently during peak seasons and independently in quieter periods
- Creative and detail-oriented with a proactive approach to menu planning
