Senior Sous Chef

Location: Tain, Easter Ross, Scottish Highlands

We are seeking anenthusiastic Senior Sous Chef with previous minimum 3 Rosette or Michelin experienceto jointhebrigade at our luxury nine bedroomed boutique hotel in the Scottish Highlands, nearTain.

The Place

Our luxury nine bedroomed boutique hotel has been awarded a Michelin key and has been shortlisted in Conde Nastfor 2025, and the restaurant has been awarded 2 Rosettes. The hotel provides breakfast, dinner and ad hoc events to guests and visitors in a beautiful remote setting.

TheRole of Senior Sous Chef

As Senior Sous Chef you will be involved in:

  • Menu compilation,
  • Hygiene health and safety checks
  • Ordering
  • Minimal administration duties
  • Monthly stock take
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen as per cleaning schedules
  • Establishing a friendly and respectful rapport with your colleagues and guests

Working within a brigade of four chefs you will provide breakfast, dinner and special event menus informing them about the provenance of the ingredients and the preparation of the menu items, therefore a confident and outgoing personality is a must.

The ideal Senior Sous Chef candidate will:

  • Possess professional cookery qualifications
  • Worked in restaurants with previous minimum 3 Rosetteor Michelin experience, in a similar position
  • Demonstrate the ability to show initiative, positivity, and present solutions.
  • Be innovative -always thinking of new ideas for menus and food presentation.
  • Be a great team player through establishing a close, calm and positive working relationship within the brigade.
  • Be flexible you always go that extra mile.
  • Possess honesty and integrity no one is perfect, but its owning up to any errors of judgement or mistakes that demonstrate your strength of character.

Hours of work are 40 per week (flexible)

Minimum 3 Rosette or Michelin experience required.
