Astute's Power Team is partnered with a global turbine maintenance service provider to recruit for both Steam and Gas Turbine Engineers to join their team on a permanent basis in Dubai, UAE. You will be working on outages across various power stations globally and will be travelling 80% of the time.

The vital Steam/Gas Outage Turbine Engineer comes with a salary of 300,000AED - 420,000AED per annum + relocation support + schooling allowances for up to two children + visa sponsorships + all travel expenses + medical insurance + other excellent benefits.

Responsibilities and duties

Reporting to the Service Manager, you will be responsible for

  • Carry out turbine installations, inspections, field services, and aftermarket upgrades, while supervising and directing supervisors and skilled labour throughout the work.
  • Plan, execute, and coordinate steam turbine installations and overhaul activities.
  • Provide rapid response to emergency service requests, diagnosing issues and restoring equipment operation.
  • Offer technical guidance and support to customers and contractors during installations and outage work.
  • Complete administrative duties including technical report writing, material ordering, quotation preparation, customer reporting, job status updates, and accurate, timely timesheet submission.
  • Approve and sign off on all modifications made during overhaul activities.
  • Ensure all work complies with engineering specifications, safety regulations, and company quality standards.
  • Diagnose problems and deliver routine maintenance support for customer equipment.
  • Develop comprehensive technical reports for customer records and future outage recommendations.
  • Coordinate and confirm that all required parts are delivered to the job site as needed.
  • When not assigned to field projects, contribute to the company's market growth through activities such as remote customer support, report reviews, maintenance documentation development, and outage planning.
  • Stay current on steam turbine systems, technologies, and applicable corrective actions



Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • Degree educated or a HNC/HND in a relevant engineering discipline with significant years' experience



Personal skills, prior experience and knowledge

The Steam/Gas Outage Turbine Engineer role would suit someone who has:

  • Experience working for a Turbine OEM provider or an independent service provider for turbines (this is a necessity)
  • Ideally have experience working with General Electric Turbines will be an advantage
  • Good technical understanding of steam/gas turbines and associated plant
  • Prior experience in a field-based role as this role will involve a lot of travel which will involve working on international sites
  • Willing to travel to 'high-risk' countries when needed
