Prospero Teaching are seeking an experienced Computer Science Teacher required for a 6 month cover, full time Monday to Friday within a Secondary SEN school based in Woolton, Liverpool.

Starting as soon as possible, for the right candidate this will be a great opportunity to gain more experience and potential for a long term depending on experience and delivery.

Previous experience working within SEN settings is desirable

150 - 190 depending on experience

Work times:

08:00am - 15:30pm

Skills and Attributes for Teacher of Computer Science

* Excellent and effective communication skills

* Ability to continue to raise the profile of computing in the school

* Ability to extend high-flying students beyond the age-specific curriculum and develop suitable intervention strategies to suit their needs

* Ability to teach IGCSE

* Ability to teach IGCSEICT

* A passion for the new computing curriculum

* A competent programmer up to A Level standard (preferably in Python) who should be able to teach object oriented programming and have a good understanding of ADTs such as stacks, queues, hash tables and binary trees

* Computing at School member or Master Teacher

* The ability to extend and motivate able students to go beyond the IGCSE and A Level syllabus

* A willingness to offer regular revision sessions for students outside of normal teaching hours (at lunchtimes and after school) in the lead up to examinations

* An enthusiasm to continue learning and improving own knowledge in computing and teaching
