Senior Systems Engineer

Senior Infrastructure Engineer – FTSE 250 / Financial Services – Singapore - Onsite
 
Overview:
I’m currently partnered with a FTSE 250 Financial Services organisation who are seeking a highly skilled, hands-on Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join their global infrastructure team based in Singapore. You'll be a key player in maintaining, improving, and supporting critical corporate IT services across the business, covering everything from cloud to on-premise environments, automation, backup systems, and user escalations.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality 3rd line support for infrastructure-related incidents and service requests
• Own and manage escalations from the Service Desk and internal technology teams through to resolution
• Perform regular health checks and maintenance across core systems to preempt issues and maximise uptime

• Collaborate with other infrastructure engineers and project teams to deliver system upgrades, migrations, and improvements
• Contribute to automation and scripting efforts using PowerShell to streamline repeatable tasks and reduce manual effort
• Identify and implement service improvements to enhance stability, performance, and user experience

• Manage and support a range of on-premise and cloud-based services including Windows Server, VMware, Active Directory, Azure AD, Office 365, and backup systems like Commvault
• Maintain and support virtual environments and storage systems ensuring optimal performance and resource allocation
• Support patching, security updates, and compliance measures in line with IT policy and industry best practices

• Work closely with internal departments, remote teams, and global offices to resolve complex IT challenges
• Liaise with external vendors and service providers for support, escalations, or solution delivery

• Be prepared for occasional travel to other international offices to provide onsite support or assist with project delivery

 
Skills & Experience Required:

• A proactive, self-motivated approach to tech challenges.
• Excellent communication skills, able to translate complex issues into business-friendly terms.
• A strong background in 3rd line support and systems engineering.
• The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

You should have hands-on experience with:

• VMware ESXi & vCenter
• PowerShell scripting & automation
• Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange Server
• Office 365, Azure AD, Intune
• Backup solutions (Commvault experience preferred – training available)
• Storage infrastructure
• SMTP, clustering, file services
• HPe hardware
• Awareness of firewalling, 802.1x, and network routing
