Senior Childcare Solicitor

Rate: 50-60 per hour - Negotiable DOE

We are seeking an experienced Childcare Solicitor to join a well-respected Children and Families Legal Team in the northwest region. You will work on high-value, sensitive cases in public and private children law, supporting safeguarding and planning for children.

The role requires excellent advocacy skills, a strong understanding of local government responsibilities, and the ability to provide clear, strategic advice in a politically sensitive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of complex children and families' legal matters with minimal supervision.
  • Undertake advocacy in contested proceedings to achieve the best outcomes for clients.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a role model within the service.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement and development of Legal Services.

Key Requirements

  • Qualification as a practising solicitor, barrister, or Fellow of CILEX (with Advocacy Certificate).
  • Extensive recent experience in complex and sensitive children and families law matters.
  • Strong advocacy, negotiation, and drafting skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex legal advice clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Political sensitivity when advising on safeguarding and related legislation.
