I am working with a client who isseekingproactive Licensing Admin Officer to join a busy local authority team. This role involves processing and managing a variety of licence applications, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and council procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process applications for licences including taxi/private hire, alcohol, gambling, scrap metal, and house-to-house collections.
- Ensure all documentation is completed, recorded, and stored in line with data protection and council protocols.
- Use the Civica system to input, track, and update licensing records.
- Liaise with applicants, licensees, and internal departments to provide guidance and resolve queries.
- Support the licensing team with general administrative duties (scanning, photocopying, filing, email responses).
- Monitor and manage shared inboxes and telephone queries.
- Assist with exam bookings and invigilation for taxi licensing applicants.
- Maintain accurate spreadsheets and databases to support reporting and compliance.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a local authority or public sector environment, ideally in licensing or administration.
- Familiarity with Civica or similar licensing/CRM systems is highly desirable.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
