Signalling Engineering Manager

Our client is looking for a highly experienced Engineering Manager to take a senior leadership role in the delivery of major rail signalling projects across the UK. You'll lead cross-discipline engineering teams, set technical strategy, and ensure safety, quality, and performance targets are met on high-profile infrastructure programmes.

Your Purpose in the Role:

  • Act as Contractor's Engineering Manager (CEM) on complex Network Rail infrastructure projects

  • Provide leadership, coordination and direction to multi-disciplinary engineering teams

  • Set the project's engineering and safety culture, ensuring compliance with contractual and industry requirements

  • Act as technical focal point between client, subcontractors, and internal teams

  • Monitor and manage engineering budgets, risks, and resources

  • Oversee the development and coordination of engineering subcontracts

  • Ensure alignment between project scope, schedules, and deliverables

  • Support successful project closeout and handover to the client

  • Actively contribute to knowledge-sharing and continuous improvement across the organisation







What We're Looking For:

  • Extensive UK signalling engineering experience at a senior level

  • Strong track record acting as CEM and/or CRE on Network Rail projects

  • Excellent understanding of CDM, CSM, and rail safety regulations

  • Demonstrated leadership of large, multi-disciplinary project teams

  • Chartered Engineer status

  • Full member of the IRSE, holding applicable IRSE licences

  • Experience introducing new systems or equipment into the rail network
