Mercury Hampton is supporting a contractor operating in the UK water and wastewater sector to appoint a Project Engineer focused on the delivery of mechanical systems across wastewater treatment projects.
The client’s preference is to make a permanent appointment, however experienced contractors will also be considered.
The Role
This is a project-level engineering role, responsible for technical coordination and delivery from design through to construction and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities

Technical ownership of mechanical engineering packages

Coordination across mechanical, civil, process and EICA disciplines

Supporting projects through design, construction and commissioning

Liaison with suppliers, subcontractors and internal delivery teams

Ensuring engineering solutions meet safety, cost and programme requirements

Identifying and recommending engineering improvements
Requirements
-
Mechanical Engineering qualification or equivalent experience

Experience delivering mechanical systems on wastewater projects

Wastewater treatment plant experience essential

Strong technical coordination and problem-solving skills
-
Comfortable working in a contractor-side delivery environment
