Morson are seeking a motivated Rail Vehicles Engineer (Band 3) This role offers the opportunity to work on high-value programmes and provide professional engineering support across the full lifecycle of railway rolling stock assets—from specification and design to maintenance and decommissioning.
You will play a key role in ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance with British, and International standards, contributing to projects that keep London moving.
Key Responsibilities- Support the delivery of engineering solutions for rolling stock assets.
- Apply a risk-based engineering approach across all lifecycle phases.
- Represent the organisations interests with external parties, including railways, standards bodies, and regulators.
- Provide technical input and assurance for major projects and maintenance organisations.
- Record of continuing professional development.
- Basic understanding of Rolling Stock engineering.
- Basic commercial awareness of developments in Rolling Stock products, processes, and assurance best practices.
- Basic knowledge of relevant LU, British, and International standards.
- Basic working knowledge of the LU business, its obligations, and priorities.
- Basic knowledge of engineering safety management within the railway environment.
- Ability to represent LU’s interests with external parties.
- High level of integrity and ability to act on own initiative.
- Highly motivated with a passion for personal development.
- Experience in Rolling Stock engineering and its practical application to high-value programmes.
- Experience providing professional engineering support to major projects and maintenance organisations with complex interfaces.
