Group Head of Procurement

Swansea or Cardiff based

£80000 - £85000 plus bonus and car allowance

The Company

Opportunity to join a growing group of companies who provide the latest energy-efficient technologies in homes across the UK. The group is well established and work with utility partners, councils, landlord associations and private home owners providing a Whole Home Approach to create warmer energy efficient homes, whilst reducing carbon emissions. With offices in Cardiff and Swansea this award-winning organisation is in a period of growth and looking for a Group Head of Procurement.

The Role

This newly created position requires a true procurement professional to bring their extensive knowledge and experience to the group. You could be based in either the Cardiff or Swansea office and will be able to work hybrid remote on a flexible basis ensuring the needs of the business are met at all times.

You will be responsible for overseeing and managing all procurement activities across the group as well as driving cost savings, maintaining quality product availability and optimizing the supply chain.

Duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to achieve overall group business goals and targets
  • Continual assessment of supplier agreements to ensure best products at best value
  • Continual assessment of group procurement processes and procedures, implementing changes as and when required
  • Maintain / refine / develop all system-based processes to ensure optimal effectiveness and efficiency
  • Management of the purchasing team
  • Build and maintain solid relationships with all key suppliers
  • Negotiating optimal pricing, terms and conditions for best value and quality results
  • Identifying and implementing cost-saving opportunities throughout the group
  • Managing procurement focused projects
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations for the entire procurement function
  • Identify and mitigate all supply chain risks
  • Working closely with internal stakeholders including senior management, finance and administration
  • Developing and providing regular reports to management

Requirements

We are looking for a highly experienced individual with a drive and passion for achieving results. The successful applicant will have the following qualifications, experience and qualities:

  • Extensive experience in a senior procurement role with a proven track record of success
  • Relevant qualification in procurement CIPS / HND / HNC / NVQ preferred
  • Strong negotiation skills essential
  • Strong strategic commercial acumen with proven ability to see the wider context
  • Strong financial understanding including cost analysis and budgeting
  • Knowledge of the energy sector, construction or similar industry
  • Experienced in project management and initiating new systems and procedures
  • Driven and motivated to achieve targets
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving skills
