About the Role

We are working with a reputable housing provider in the South East of England who is seeking an experienced Interim Compliance Manager to lead a critical project focused on water hygiene and legionella compliance. This role will play a key part in shaping the long-term compliance strategy for the organisation while ensuring immediate operational needs are met.



Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the tendering process to appoint a qualified contractor for water hygiene services, ensuring transparency, value for money, and regulatory compliance.

  • Develop and implement a robust legionella compliance strategy, aligned with industry best practice and current regulations (e.g., ACOP L8, HSG274).

  • Establish clear and measurable KPIs for contractor performance, ensuring ongoing accountability and continuous improvement.

  • Monitor and manage contractor performance, ensuring service delivery meets both regulatory requirements and internal standards.

  • Provide expert advice to internal teams and senior leadership on water safety compliance and risk mitigation.

  • Produce regular performance and compliance reports, highlighting risks, progress, and remedial actions.



About You

  • Proven experience in compliance or property health & safety management, ideally within social housing or a public sector environment.

  • Strong knowledge of legionella and water hygiene regulations (ACOP L8, HSG274).

  • Track record in contract procurement and contractor management, with a focus on compliance-based services.

  • Able to develop and monitor SMART KPIs and translate strategic goals into operational delivery.

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and reporting skills.
