Are you a Control Systems Engineer or Automation Engineer looking for a role where you can take full ownership of projects? We are working with a well-established electrical control systems specialist that provides high-quality solutions across industries such as food & beverage, oil & gas, energy, and manufacturing. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced engineer to manage projects from concept to completion.



About the Role

This is a hands-on position where you will be the main point of contact for customer projects, taking specifications from an initial enquiry through to a fully designed and tested control system. You will be responsible for designing, specifying components, producing detailed documentation, and overseeing production and testing.



Key Responsibilities

  • Taking customer specifications from email, enquiry, or phone call and developing a complete control system solution
  • Producing electrical schematics, layouts, and wiring diagrams for manufacturing and testing
  • Creating bills of materials (BoM) and ensuring component specifications meet project requirements
  • Generating technical documentation, reports, and compliance certifications
  • Liaising with customers to provide quotes, manage expectations, and act as the key point of contact
  • Collaborating with internal teams, including wiremen, commissioning engineers, and production staff
  • Supporting commissioning, troubleshooting, and on-site modifications when required


What We Are Looking For

  • Minimum five years' experience in industrial control systems design
  • Proficiency in electrical CAD software for schematic drafting
  • Experience with low-voltage control panels, machinery control, and automation systems
  • Strong understanding of technical documentation, safety compliance, and engineering standards
  • Ability to engage with customers, manage quotes, and oversee project delivery
  • Level 3 Engineering qualification (HNC/Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred)
  • Additional experience in PLC programming, functional safety, or system commissioning would be an advantage
