The Client

Our client is a leading manufacturer of print and laser marking technology. Their Ireland site is responsible for managing the customer base in Ireland and serve the manufacturing industry across a variety of sectors including food, electronics, cosmetics, automotive, healthcare, and construction. Now part of a larger group, they are able to offer expanded support to customers but still maintain a personalised approach that customers can trust. They are now on the lookout for a new Business Development Manager to support their growth plans.

The Role

The primary responsibilities of this role include overseeing all sales activities within the designated territory from initial customer enquiry through the quotation phase and up to the final point of sale. The ideal candidate will report directly to the Managing Director, playing an essential role in facilitating and supporting the entire sales process. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain and build a pipeline of sustainable business and working relationships
  • Plan sales activities and customer/prospect visits profitably within the business framework
  • Perform product demonstrations using technical knowledge and experience
  • Delivery of CPD Presentations
  • Cross sell the full range of company products when appropriate.
  • Liaise closely with colleagues in other departments.
  • Seek out, understand and report to the management team any industry trends and movements.
  • Ensure CRM and Pipeline management tools are used and updated.

The Person

  • Experience working in a territory sales role selling tangible products
  • Experience of performing technical product demos
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • IT literate
  • Results driven
  • Dynamic/Innovate
  • Strong negotiator
  • Ability to think logically and apply a methodical approach to organising information
  • Comfortable working on their own and as part of a team
  • Self motivated
  • Approachable, supportive, fair and respectful
