Job Opportunity: SEMH Teaching Assistant Classroom-Based
Location: Longsight, Manchester
Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: GBP108 - GBP(phone number removed) per day (dependent on experience)

We are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a forward-thinking school in Hulme. This role is classroom-based, working closely with teaching staff to support students across EYFS- KS1 who require additional emotional and behavioural support to access learning.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH needs

Assist in delivering tailored interventions and behaviour strategies

Foster positive relationships and promote emotional regulation

Support classroom routines and learning activities

Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams

Maintain accurate records and contribute to student progress reviews

What Were Looking For:
Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or SEN

Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills

A calm, empathetic, and consistent approach

Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures

Relevant qualifications (e.g. TA Level 2/3, Youth Work, Psychology) desirable

Ability to build trust and rapport with vulnerable learners
