Salary
- 28,000 base salary
- Training increments across three levels:
- Level 1: 1,000
- Level 2: 1,500
- Level 3: 1,500
Shift Pattern
- 7/7 flexible shift pattern
- 7 x 12-hour shifts over 7 consecutive days
- Followed by 7 days off
- Core shift pattern runs Wednesday to Tuesday
- Day shifts: 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
- Night shifts: 7:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.
- On-call duty: one week in every six
- Overtime paid at 0.075% of salary
Job Overview
A motivated and safety-conscious Production Operator / Trainee Production Operator is required to support the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of site-based facilities. While the role may involve working across multiple locations, it will be primarily based at one designated site.
The position involves carrying out routine operational activities to ensure facilities continue to operate safely and efficiently, while minimising downtime and supporting wider operational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine operational tasks to support safe and efficient facility operations
- Monitor plant and equipment, making adjustments to controls and instrumentation as required
- Identify, investigate, and resolve operational issues and faults
- Optimise production through best practice and proactive problem-solving
- Accurately record operational data and complete required documentation
- Maintain clear communication, including shift handovers and site reporting
- Ensure all work is conducted safely and in line with established policies, procedures, and control-of-work processes
- Support maintenance, project, commissioning, and service activities, including supervision of contractors and external vendors when required
- Participate in incident investigations and emergency response activities as necessary
- Work flexibly to support operations during normal hours and occasional out-of-hours requirements
About the Candidate
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Mechanically minded, with experience using hand and power tools
- Practical and hands-on, with a preference for field-based work
- Strong safety awareness and a responsible approach to tasks
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- High attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately
- Experience in an operational, industrial, utilities, or similar environment is desirable but not essential
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office, are advantageous
Essential Requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Willingness to travel between operational sites across the south of England
