Job Title: Stores Person (Despatch) - Temp to Start
Location: Bedhampton, Portsmouth
Contract: Temporary to Start - Full-Time (37 hours per week)
Hours:
- Core hours for site : Monday - Thursday: 07:15 - 15:45, Friday: 07:15 - 12:15
- Flexibility in these hours to allow for daily collections up to 16:00 and occasional Saturday mornings
Pay Rates (PAYE + Advanced Holiday):
- Basic: 13.70ph or 15.69 ph including holiday pay
- Overtime: 20.55 or 23.54 ph including holiday pay
- Sundays: 27.40 or 31.39 ph including holiday pay
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Stores Person with strong dispatch knowledge to join our team. The successful candidate will be experienced in handling aircraft parts (including military shipments) and be adaptable to varying workloads and schedules.
Skills, Experience & Education Required:
- Proven experience in a dispatch environment
- Valid Forklift Truck (FLT) licence - desirable
- Knowledge of Export Compliance - desirable
- Experience placing and packing orders via Kite Packaging
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with the Shipping Department
- Ability to resolve customer order queries promptly
- Organised with strong attention to detail
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Heavy lifting and manual handling
- Loading and unloading deliveries
- Placing orders for packing boxes via Kite
- Shrink-wrapping pallets
- Driving a FLT (if licensed)
- Packing goods for shipment
- Daily upkeep of the dispatch area
- Supporting team operations and other duties as required
- Working efficiently with high levels of accuracy
- Maintaining a strong work ethic and team spirit
