Site Instrument Engineer – Permanent – Hampshire

We are seeking an experienced Site Instrument Engineer to join a major international operator at their flagship facility in Hampshire, delivering cutting-edge work across the Oil & Gas, Hydrogen, and Carbon Capture & Storage (CCS) sectors.

This is an opportunity to join a high-performing site engineering team supporting the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of process systems across a major production facility. You will take a lead role in both day-to-day plant support and key capital improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, optimisation, and maintenance of process control and safety instrumented systems (SIS)

  • Work closely with Engineering to execute tasks that reduce project backlog and drive operational improvements

  • Identify plant upgrade opportunities and prepare comprehensive scopes, budgets, and implementation timelines

  • Design and implement safety systems and instrument upgrades as part of capital projects

  • Take full responsibility for SIS and control system specifications, testing, and commissioning

  • Deliver and maintain key technical documentation including SIL verification, SIL reports, and Safety Requirement Specifications

Candidate Requirements:

  • Strong background in the oil and gas or heavy process industries, ideally with on-site operational exposure

  • Proven experience in instrumentation, process control, and safety systems engineering

  • Minimum HNC qualification in Instrumentation, Electrical, or relevant Engineering discipline (Degree preferred)

  • Familiarity with standards such as IEC 61511 and experience with SIL determination and verification
