Multiskilled Civil Operative - Drainage Network (Southern Water Region)

Our client is looking for an Multiskilled Civils Operative looking to make an impact in the utilities sector? We're recruiting skilled individuals to support drainage works across the Southern Water region. If you're safety-conscious, reliable, and take pride in quality work, we want to hear from you.



Role Overview

As a Civils Operative, you will carry out essential drainage repairs and installations, including dig-down repairs, manhole rebuilds, interceptor installations/removals, and CCTV survey support. You'll follow clear instructions from supervisors and managers, complete all tasks safely, and ensure compliance with site regulations and documentation requirements.



Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out daily pre-start checks and Point of Work Risk Assessments (POWRA)

  • Deliver civils works such as manhole rebuilds, drainage repairs, interceptor removals/installations

  • Ensure the site team and visitors wear appropriate PPE at all times

  • Operate hand-held devices for job data capture

  • Maintain tidy and timely paperwork

  • Perform and record daily vehicle checks (including trailers and towable plant)

  • Maintain vehicles to a clean and roadworthy standard

  • Follow company procedures and safety protocols (SSWR assessments)

  • Participate in the on-call rota

  • Carry out any other duties as required by the Civils Manag



Essential Experience & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in sewer network or drainage utility work

  • Full UK driving licence (clean)

  • CSCS Card
  • Streetworks (NRSWA) certification

  • Confined space training

  • High-pressure water jetting qualification



Desirable Qualifications

  • OS19 CCTV survey training

  • Advanced confined space training
