Mechanical Design Engineer (Hydraulics) - The Role:
- Design and specify hydraulic systems, producing schematics, 3D models, and detailed manufacturing drawings
- Model and validate systems using simulation tools such as Simcenter AMEsim
- Produce technical documentation, including calculations and design justifications
- Support system development and testing
- Manage supplier selection and liaison throughout the design and build process
- Provide commissioning and technical support for vessels
- Collaborate closely within a small, cross-functional engineering team
- Contribute to wider mechanical design work as required
Mechanical Design Engineer (Hydraulics)- The Person:
- A qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Fluid Power, Control Systems, or a related discipline
- Experience in hydraulic system design (including schematics and component selection)
- Solid understanding of both industrial and mobile hydraulic systems
- Proficiency in CAD for mechanical design (3D modelling & drawings)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work well in a collaborative environment
- Willingness to travel for commissioning and support activities
- Experience using Simcenter AMEsim – highly desirable
- NFPC or equivalent hydraulic training – desirable (can be provided for the right candidate)
It's key you are experienced with the design of hydraulic systems rather than hydraulic components for this role.
