Our client is looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to support their Highways division. Recognised as the UK's leading highway maintenance contractor, the business delivers innovative and practical solutions across a wide range of services, including routine and emergency maintenance as well as highway improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities:
路Assist with cost control and value management, ensuring financial reports are accurate and delivered on time
路Work closely with operational teams to produce robust and transparent quarterly forecasts
路Manage contract variations, early warnings and compensation events in line with contractual requirements
路Ensure all activities comply with client expectations and established commercial processes
路Develop and maintain positive client relationships while monitoring budgets and year-end performance
路Manage sub-contractor procurement, monthly valuations, reconciliations and final accounts
路Undertake site visits and help ensure projects remain on programme and within agreed timescales
路Provide additional commercial support and undertake ad-hoc duties when required
Requirements:
路Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline (desirable but not essential)
路Demonstrable commercial experience within the construction sector
路Strong negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills
路Well organised with good interpersonal abilities
路Experience in highways or civil engineering, ideally working for a contractor
路Working knowledge of NEC forms of contract
路Professionally qualified Quantity Surveyor with relevant experience and credentials
