About the Role

The Director of Curriculum for Health Care and Early Years Education will provide strategic and operational leadership across the Health and Social Care division, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality, inclusive, and career-focused curriculum that meets the evolving needs of students and stakeholders. This role will champion curriculum innovation and excellence in teaching, learning, and assessment, while fostering a culture of ambition, collaboration, and resilience. Working closely with Programme Leaders and Heads of Studies, the postholder will align resource planning and delivery to support outstanding student outcomes and contribute to the wider vision of unlocking potential and fostering success across the college community

About you

You are an experienced and confident Further Education manager with a passion for shaping impactful curriculum experiences. You bring a proven track record of leading curriculum areas, ideally within Early Years and/or Health and Social Care, and have a strong understanding of the Health & Care sectors. Your ability to build meaningful relationships with employers and stakeholders will be key in developing provision that is both responsive and future-focused. You thrive in dynamic environments, lead with clarity and purpose, and are committed to fostering excellence, inclusion, and innovation across your teams.

Key areas of Accountabilities:

  • As Director of Curriculum – Health Care and Early Years Education, you will lead the strategic development and delivery of a high-performing curriculum that meets student, employer, and sector needs.
  • You will be responsible for driving continuous improvement across key performance indicators including retention, attendance, achievement, and progression, while narrowing gaps between student groups.
  • Your leadership will support curriculum innovation, growth in student numbers and income, and alignment with labour market demands.
  • You will ensure quality through robust self-assessment and external validation, and manage resources effectively to balance efficiency and impact. Through strong stakeholder engagement and team development, you will foster a culture of excellence and ambition across the Health and Social Care division.
  • Drive the development of high-performing teams by inspiring staff and managing performance
  • Drive academic and technical qualification excellence responsive to the current and future skills of the labour market
