Driver & Crane Operator - Permanent Position

Location: Flixborough, North Lincolnshire
Start Date: July or August 2025
Shift Options:

  • Days: 08:00 to 16:30 (16.00/hour)

  • Nights: 19:00 to 04:00 (21.00/hour)
    Minimum Hours Paid: 8 hours per shift
    Accommodation: Candidate must live within commutable distance (recommended within 1 hour)

We are a recruitment agency working with an established infrastructure and civils contractor. Our client is seeking a full-time, reliable Driver & Crane Operator to support both day and night operations from their Flixborough head office. This is a permanent role offering stable work across delivery, crane operation, and general site support.



Tasks / Duties:

  • General driver duties, including delivery/collection of materials to/from head office, site, galvanisers, and steel stockists (all generally within a 2-hour drive).

  • When operating HGV, vehicle safety defect checks will be required prior to the shift and logged electronically using the Re-Flow field software system (accessible via app - tablet provided).

  • Materials from head office will generally be loaded with a straight-mast forklift. The candidate will be expected to secure their own load (initial loading is done by others). Forklift experience or willingness to learn is preferred.

  • Plant on/off site: The candidate is not expected to operate plant on/off the Beavertail bed but must understand how to properly secure items. Typical plant includes 3T-5T Excavators.

  • Picking and packing orders including fixings, general construction materials, and metal safety barrier systems.

  • General workshop and stock control duties when driving is not required. This is expected during daytime hours at head office. No prior experience is required, but the candidate must show a willingness to learn.

  • HIAB offload of materials when on site. The candidate must be a competent and confident lorry loader.

  • General duties on site associated with fence installation when not operating the HIAB, at the discretion of the site supervisor (experience in this field is beneficial but not required).

  • Load materials from site to return to head office.



Required Tickets / Experience:

  • Valid Digital Tachograph Card and minimum Class 2 HGV License - Mandatory

  • ALLMI / CPCS / NPORS Lorry Loader (hook) - Mandatory

  • CPCS / NPORS Slinger Signaller (all types all duties) - Mandatory

  • Over the age of 25 - Insurance Requirement

  • CSCS Green Card - Ideal but not initially mandatory

  • The candidate must be a competent and confident lorry loader

  • Must be prepared to assist on site or at head office when driving work is not available

  • Ideally has some experience working on highways or trunk roads, particularly in traffic management
