Seeking an experienced and proactive Finance Manager to oversee all aspects of our financial operations, compliance, and reporting, ensuring that the business runs efficiently.

Role Overview
Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, the Finance Manager will manage the day-to-day financial operations of the company, including subcontractor payments, CIS returns, VAT, payroll, and monthly reporting. This role will also ensure all statutory and certification requirements are met while maintaining accurate, up-to-date financial records and supporting business performance analysis.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
- Manage daily accounting operations using QuickBooks.
- Prepare and review monthly management accounts, forecasts, and cash flow reports.
- Handle VAT returns and reconciliations (monthly/quarterly).
- Oversee Corporation Tax reporting and quarterly payments.
- Complete accounting period-end procedures.
- Liaise with external accountants and auditors to ensure compliance.
Payroll & HMRC Compliance
- Process wages (weekly/fortnightly/monthly).
- Submit CIS returns to HMRC.
- Manage HMRC reports and submissions.
- Complete annual P60 and P11D reporting.
Subcontractor & Commercial Management
- Oversee all subcontractor payments, ensuring CIS and verification compliance.
- Assist with insurance renewals, commercial documentation, and PQQs (as required).
Compliance, Accreditation & Policy Management
- Maintain and update company policies annually, ensuring sign-off and compliance.
- Manage renewals and submissions for:
- Achilles, SMAS, Acclaim/CQMS, and Builders Profile.
- Oversee cyber security, insurance, fleet cover, healthcare, and related renewals.
General Administration & Support
- Handle banking and credit card accounting
- Maintain fuel records.
- Ensure smooth day-to-day financial and administrative operations across the business.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience as a Finance Manager or Management Accountant in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of CIS, VAT, HMRC compliance, and subcontractor payment processes.
- Competent with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.
- Professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) desirable, or significant industry experience.
