Title: R&D Laboratory Technician

Location: Amesbury, Wiltshire

Salary: 27,000 - 29,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

SRG is exclusively partnered with a rapidly growing manufacturer in the food industry who are now looking to hire a Laboratory Technician to join the R&D team at their site near Amesbury. This exciting Laboratory Technician opportunity would be well suited to a recent scientific graduate who is passionate about the food industry and keen to kick-start their career in a laboratory.

Enhanced pension contributions, company bonus scheme, 38.75 working hours per week with 25 days holiday + bank holidays (with the option to buy up to 5 extra days holiday).

Role / Description

  • Supporting senior members of staff with customer development briefs
  • Mixing and preparing samples in the laboratory
  • Working with the applications laboratory to test samples in food products
  • Maintaining the raw materials and consumables databases
  • Ordering supplies and general housekeeping of the laboratory.

Requirements

  • Recently graduated in Chemistry, Food Science, Natural Sciences, Biochemistry or similar
  • An obvious passion for food science and/or the wider food industry
  • Accuracy in weighing and measuring out raw materials
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with a willingness to learn
  • Excellent communication skills, able to communicate effectively with a multitude of departments
  • Able to multi-task and change priorities quickly depending on business need.
